The Inner Shadow · individual meeting

Meeting with the Shadow

An individual meeting of about 90 minutes to explore the Inner Shadow, recognize what you project or hide and turn it into a more conscious resource.

Encounter with the Shadow · The Inner Shadow

The part of you you hide doesn't disappear.

There are aspects of us that we learn early to not show: anger, desire, ambition, fragility, need for attention, sensuality, strength, need to say no. Some we judge, some we fear, some we admire in others but can't recognize them in us. The Shadow is also this: what remains outside the image you've learned to have of yourself.

The Shadow is not evil

It's what you've learned to leave out of the light.

It doesn't just contain what you think is ugly, it can also contain strength, courage, desire, creativity, and qualities that you decided one day you couldn't afford.

When a part of you is excluded, it's not erased, but it can come back through very strong reactions, unexplained attractions, judgments, shame, envy, idealizations, or situations that seem to affect you more than you need to.

Encountering the Shadow doesn't turn every emotion into a problem. When a reaction is telling something about you too.

Where it can show up

Sometimes the Shadow doesn't speak in secret.

01

What makes you angry

A person or behavior is instantly triggering you. It's not always a projection; but when the reaction is recurrent or disproportionate, it's worth understanding what's touching you.

02

What you envy

Envy can contain valuable information - something you desire, admire, or wish to give yourself but still feel far from your identity.

03

What you're hiding

There are aspects you avoid showing because you fear judgment, rejection or loss of control.

04

What you don 't give

Saying no. Being seen. Taking space. Asking. Desiring. Being vulnerable. Sometimes the most hidden part is not the dark part: it's the most alive part.

The mirror

Not everything you see in others belongs to you, but some reactions can become a mirror.

The point is not to blame yourself every time someone annoys you, it would be simplistic. Why is this what touches me so much?

In Junghyan psychology, projection describes the very process by which unrecognized content can be perceived primarily outside of us, and when we realize it, we can stop just arguing with the mirror and start looking at what it's reflecting.

How it really works

Meet the Shadow: we're starting from a real episode, not a theory about who you are.

You come up with a specific situation: a person who makes you react, a conflict, a part of you you can't stand, something you're ashamed to feel, or a quality you keep seeing in others and can't recognize as possible for yourself.

1

The episode

Let's reconstruct what happened without confusing the fact with the interpretation. What was said? What did you feel? At what moment did something change inside you?

2

The load

We go to the burning point: anger, annoyance, fear, attraction, shame, need for control, sense of inferiority, not to judge him, but to listen to what he's defending or asking.

3

The excluded part

We look for a quality, a need, or an impulse that you find difficult to recognize as your own, sometimes it's an uncomfortable part, sometimes it's a force you've learned to put out.

4

The dialogue

Through questions, guided imagination, and symbolic work, we give voice to that part. What does it want? What is it afraid of? What is it trying to protect you from?

5

The integration

We don't go out with something more useful than this, something to be taken back, a line to be set, a sentence to be recognized, or a concrete gesture to be carried into life.

Integration does not mean obedience

Recognizing a part of you doesn't mean letting it drive.

If you encounter anger, it doesn't mean you become aggressive. It could mean recognizing a boundary you're not defending. If you encounter envy, it doesn't mean feeding it. It could show you a desire you're not granting yourself. If you encounter a need for control, it doesn't mean more control. It could help you understand what fear you're trying to keep away.

From rage to the border

A force that seemed ugly can become the ability to say enough, protect your space and speak more clearly.

From envy to leadership

What you admire or envy may indicate a possibility that you have not yet authorized within yourself.

From shame to presence

A hidden part loses power when you can look at it without having to immediately delete it or pretend it doesn't exist.

From the mask to the choice

When you no longer have to constantly defend the image of who you should be, it becomes easier to choose how you really want to be.

What are you going out with?

You don't have to go out knowing everything about yourself, you have to go out seeing something that used to act in the dark.

At the end of the meeting, we collect what comes out and turn it into something you can recognize even outside the session: a sentence, a quality to recover, a boundary, a question to take with you or a specific action.

The value of the encounter is not to discover that you have a shadow. Recognizing a part that could have affected you before you could see it clearly.

Individual experience

Ninety minutes to get to the point you usually avoid.

It brings a real situation, you don't have to prepare a perfect story, and you don't have to know your shadow already, so let's start with what you're feeling right now and follow the thread until the hidden part starts to have a clearer face, function and meaning.

Questions before entering

What's useful to know.

Do I have to know what my Shadow is?

No, work is really about a situation, a reaction, or a part of you that makes you friction.

What annoys me about others is always a projection?

No, a person can actually behave badly or overstep a limit of yours, and shadow work becomes interesting when the reaction is very intense, recurring, or seems to touch something that goes beyond the individual episode.

Does the Shadow contain only negative parts?

It can also contain positive qualities that you have not been allowed to experience: ambition, sensuality, creativity, courage, desire to be seen, the ability to take up space or say no.

How's the meeting going?

We talk about a specific episode, we look at the emotional load and what you attribute to the situation, we look for the excluded part, and when it's useful, we also work with guided imagination and symbolic dialogue, and we close by translating what emerges into something recognizable and concrete.

Is this a more-than-a-meet-up route?

This version is designed as a single, deep meeting of about 90 minutes, so if you want to explore another Shadow or another node in the future, you can make a new encounter from a different situation.

The hidden part doesn't ask to be your master.

She asks you to stop being forced to speak only in the dark.

If there's something that keeps provoking you, attracting you, hurting you, or putting you in conflict with yourself, maybe you shouldn't eliminate it immediately. Maybe you should look at it enough to understand what it's trying to show you.
